RCLC is recruiting for Board Members 2015- 2016!!

Hello Ryerson!! 

As we are closing into the last few weeks of the semester, it is also time for RCLC to select our new Board members for the year 2015-2016. We are looking for individuals that are committed, passionate about helping others, and are team players

Include the following information in your application:
- Name 
- Program
- Year 
- Interested position
- Individuals applying for the Creative Director/ Marketing Associate, please attach 2 of your recent poster/flyer creations in your application. 
- Brief paragraph about why you picked that position, your [active] status in the club (such as the activities you've participated in the club so far), and what you hope to achieve with and in the selected position.


The following positions are available:
President
- Attend [all] meetings and call the meetings
- Ensure communication between Lions Club International, Multiple District A, & District A 7-11 information are transmitted to RCLC
- Prepare the agenda with the Board for upcoming and/or possible events
- Delegate/appoint tasks to ensure smooth and successful events
- Ensure communication between Ryerson’s Affiliate group co-ordinator, keep RCLC’s status updated - Pick up mails from the SCC
- Submit regular monthly reports (work with Membership Director and/or Treasurer for membership results)
- Encourage collaborations with other clubs
- Assist in room booking/ table set ups booking with the SCC
- Assist in table set ups for events
- Update club members on events/ initiatives via email and social media

Vice President
- Assist the President with his/her duties - acting on his/her behalf when President is not present 
- Oversee the projects the club agrees to take on and ensure the project team and the Board is well informed
- Regular communication and updates between the Board to the General Members
- Pick up mails from the SCC and pass on to the President
- Assist in room booking/ table set ups booking with the SCC
- Assist in table set ups for events
- Assist Secretary on updating club members on events/ initiatives via email and social


Secretary
- Prepare the agenda with the President, record minutes and provide them to the Board to ensure everyone is updated
- Submit regular monthly reports (work with Membership Director and/or Treasurer for membership results)
- Ensure communication between Ryerson’s Affiliate group co-ordinator, keep RCLC’s status updated
- Take minutes during the meetings and send updated minutes to the board/ general members
- Pick up mails from the SCC and pass on to the President

- Assist in room booking/ table set ups booking with the SCC
- Update club members on events/ initiatives via email and social media
- Assist in the room bookings for board/general meetings
- Assist in table set ups for events

Treasurer
- Ensure all the funds are accurately recorded (club book-keeping matches the cash flow of the bank statements)
- Responsible for all the monies received by the club and ensure proper book-keeping (e.g. membership fees, fundraising, etc.)
- Readily available to update the Board on the club's financial status
- Assist in table set ups for events
- Pick up mails from the SCC and pass on to the President
- Update club members on events/ initiatives via email and social media


Membership Director
- Develop membership growth strategies (e.g. activities) for the club and/or applicable events held by the club or on campus
- Communicate with potential members to answer their questions and welcome new members
- Assist in table set ups for events
- Pick up mails from the SCC and pass on to the President
- Update club members on events/ initiatives via email and social media
- Assist in the room bookings for board/general meetings


Tail Twister
- Promoter of good fellowship, harmony and enthusiasm in the club through appropriate stunts and activities (e.g. charging late fees for coffee!, etc.)
- Assist in table set ups for events
- Update club members on events/ initiatives via email and social media

Lion Tamer 
- Responsible for club property and paraphernalia (e.g. banner, Bristol board, club’s promotional materials)
- Ensure club materials and property are available at each event through proper coordination with club members
- Assist in table set ups for events
- Update club members on events/ initiatives via email and social media


Creative Director
- Responsible for creating promotional and marketing materials (e.g. posters, flyers, etc)
- Set up a project team for promotional purposes (e.g. putting up posters, promoting event/club)
- Create Facebook Event pages, Blogs (if applicable), Twitter updates, etc.
- Assist in table set ups for events
- Update club members on events/ initiatives via email and social media


Marketing Associate
- Assist the Creative Director in the creation of posters, flyers
- Create Facebook Event pages, Blogs (if applicable), Twitter updates, etc.
- Assist in table set ups for events
- Update club members on events/ initiatives via email and social media
- Qualifications: Knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, Acrobat XI, or any graphic design program an asset.

Events Associate
- Assist with the planning and budgeting of projects.
- Organize club socials and/or parties on a regular basis.
- Retrieve and return equipment for events.
- Help fundraise for various causes with the rest of the club.
- Provide assistance during events.
- Assist in table set ups for events
- Update club members on events/ initiatives via email and social media

3rd Annual Business Forum - Conversational Cafe with Industry Professionals

With the partnership of Ryerson Campus Lions, Toronto Trillium Lions and Kleinburg Omega Leos, we are excited to announce our 3rd annual Business Forum!

This casual conversational cafe event will give you the opportunity to interact with working professionals from different fields. Come and open your minds to the possibilities of discovering potential opportunities and/or get to know more about the career you might be interested in! 

Date: Tues. March 24th, 2015
Place: Thomas Lounge - Ryerson University
Time: Doors open at 6:30 pm, conversational cafe begins at 6:45pm (1 hour event)

Admission: $2.00 per person. All proceeds will be donated to The Knapsack Project (a community based project to provide knapsacks with school supplies to under-served children in St. Lucia).
