CIBC Run For The Cure & Shoreline Cleanup!

Sunday 6 October 2013

Today, we participated in two different events - CIBC Run For The Cure and The Great Canadian Shoreline Cleanup! Both events were a great success!

CIBC Run For The Cure

Great Canadian Shoreline Cleanup
The Shoreline Cleanup event takes place across Canada to take action against aquatic debris which is caused by litter on the shorelines. Their mission is "to promote understanding and education about shoreline litter issues by encouraging Canadians to rehabilitate shoreline areas through cleanups". Today, we joined The Toronto Trillium Lions Club in cleaning up the shoreline at Bluffers Park.

RCLC's First Social of the Year!

Last Friday (Sept 27), we had our first ever social of the year! It was held at the new Roll Play Cafe, a board game cafe that just opened near Ryerson! Socials like these allow new members to get to know each other and to meet current members in a laidback environment; it is a great way to connect and break the ice! The event was a huge success and everyone had a lot of fun! Below are some pictures from the event:
Keep your eyes opened for upcoming social events! Next week, we will have our 2nd social event at Wonderland's Halloween Haunt (previously known as Fearfest!) The Student Service Centre sells discount tickets four $35 (tax already included)!
